December BJP 2010

The final two projects for Bead Journal Project 2010. For this stone page (no. 8), I've added a bit of macrame. Scroll down and check it out ---- this macrame is done with sewing thread.

Behind the center opening of the stone donut I placed a piece of copper colored paper.

The 12th spiral done up for the holiday.

Spirals and Stone Page No. 7

10/10/10 - great date!

Here is August - I was still thinking of ocean colors.

September - inspiration was the leaves turning yellow.

October - now the leaves are oranges, red and browns.

Stone Page No. 7 - the featured "stones" are two pieces of beach glass - most probably beer bottle glass. For this piece I wired the glass in place with 24 ga. brass wire.

Stone Page No. 6 is finally finished and mounted.

Having spent the summer in New England (returning south last weekend), it was good to see the Stone Page series again and I was pleased to still feel good about it.

This is the first in what has become the Stone Page series.

Stone Page 4

Can't seem to find that I published Stone Page 4 so I am adding it now. This is a slice of agate that my Mom bought many years ago.

Stone Page No. 6

The latest in the Stone Page series featuring a beautifully tumbled rock from the sea.

I stitched the rock in place with the idea that I would bead around it, but I'm liking the look of the delicate thread against the rock. Hmm.

This is the most recent in my "stone pages". The feature bead is an amber pin that my Dad bought probably 50, or more, years ago.

BJP-2010 - Stone Page 3

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever finish getting those seed beads sewn on. One bead at a time is a very slow process.

Would anyone have any idea what this mineral specimen is? This piece has been highly polished and the edges are very smooth.

January 1st/2nd - Stone Page 2

The Goddess of Bead Embroidery was not at all pleased with my plans for the year. I went to bed on January 1st knowing how I wanted to proceed with my creative endeavors for the next twelve months. Everything was set and I was walking a golden path, all neat and orderly.

When I awoke on January 2nd I discovered the GBE had torn up my path, throwing down boulders in my way, forcing an entirely new direction for year.
