Hurricane Bill

Before the days of television's Weather Channel and storm trackers, folks relied on their barometers. As you can see, a hurricane is accurately being recorded.

28.2 inches of Hg on the barometer is time to batten down the hatches.

Quite some time ago, out in Seattle, Dr. Callison and I were going to fly up to his cabin in the Canadian San Juan Islands. But one light on the right wing tip was not working. And the weather did not look too good. When Don Callison saw the baromator was in the 28.2 inche range, he said he had never seen it so low, and said we had better not go flying. I hartily seconded the opinion.
