A Blossom for May

This afternoon I discovered this flower had blossomed. Once again I've no idea what it is. The landscaper put in about ten of these shrubs but so far this is the only bloom.

Earth Day 2009

For earth day 2009 I stitched up some reusable gift bags. First I lightly felted some wool yardage and then made the bags. Now for the fun part of decorating them. As you can see, one bag is finished with a bit of red knitted lace.

This morning I made this small silk gift bag. The lace is knitted with a handdyed silk.

April is in honor of my Mom, it being her birth month. The feature piece on this is her sorority pin. The crystals represent her birthstone which is diamond.

March -

This piece honors my father-in-law whose birth month was March. The brass button in the center is from his military uniform. Bob Sr. served as a paratrooper during WWII.
